School Meals
The Mayor of London is offering grant funding for the 2024/25 school year to pay for free school meals for Key Stage 2 pupils at state schools who do not qualify for Government-funded income-related free school meals
All primary school children who attend state schools in London will receive free school meals for the full academic year, starting in 2024/25/ academic year. This means all state funded primary school children in London are now eligible for free school meals. The funding will help up to 270,000 primary school children in London access free school meals and could save your family upwards of £440 across the year.
Your child will receive their free school meals automatically, but it’s vitally important that you still complete your borough’s registration form if you believe you are eligible for extra benefits-related funding for their school from the Government, worth £1,300 per year. See eligibility criteria below. That’s extra money to spend on enrichment activities, teacher development, and targeted support for the children that need it most. Depending on how schemes operate in your borough, it may also entitle you to other benefits like food vouchers during the holidays. There is more information about registration in your borough here: https://www.bromley.gov.uk/FreeSchoolMealsApplicationForm.

Parents are encouraged to apply for free meals even if you prefer your child to have a packed lunch, as this attracts valuable additional funding for the school.
Packed Lunches
If your child would prefer to bring a packed lunch please ensure that this contains no nuts as we have children in school with severe allergies. Any drinks sent in should be in a plastic container or carton. No glass or cans of fizzy drink should be brought into school. Please ensure that all lunch boxes are clearly named.
All food in lunch boxes should be eaten at lunch time. In addition, Key Stage 2 children may bring in a fruit snack for morning break. Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 children have fruit for morning break provided by the school.
